We’re starting with a recipe from Something Swanky that calls for either Ritz or saltines; you can use whatever you have leftover in your pantry. Requiring just 4 ingredients, all of which you probably already have, this toffee is the perfect treat to whip up when you’re short on time. Ingredients:
- 1 sleeve Ritz or saltine crackers
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a 10.5-by-15.5-inch jelly roll pan by lining it with parchment paper. Be sure to crease the edges so that it’s easier to lay the crackers in a single layer.
Place the crackers in a flat, single layer on the jelly roll pan.
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Mix in the brown sugar. Bring to a boil and set a timer for 3 minutes.
Allow to boil without stirring. After 3 minutes, remove from heat immediately. Pour the mixture over the crackers and use a spatula to gently spread the toffee over the crackers.
Bake toffee-crackers for 6 minutes. Remove and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Return to oven for 1 minute.
Spread the melted chocolate chips evenly across the toffee with a spatula. Sprinkle any toppings over top. Let the pan cool at room temperature for a few minutes before placing it in the refrigerator to chill for about 30 minutes, until hardened. Break apart to serve. Store chilled.

2. Chocolate-Covered Saltine Crackers
Next up is an addicting dessert highlighted on Food.com. Enter: Chocolate-Covered Crackers. These are almost too good to be true, and they couldn’t be easier. Just grab your sleeve of saltines, some butter, brown sugar, and chocolate, and you’re good to go. It’s up to you to choose your toppings, but it may not be up to you how many of these sweet treats you consume.
Ingredients:
- 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup butter
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 12 ounces mini chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped nuts
- ½ cup toffee pieces
- 1 tablespoon candy sprinkles garnish
Directions: Arrange 40 saltine crackers on a nonstick foil in a jelly roll pan. Melt butter and brown sugar in pan and boil 3 minutes. Pour over crackers. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes. Pour chocolate chips over and let stand 5 minutes to melt. Spread around with knife and then sprinkle nuts and toffee bits over top and or raisins. Garnish with colored sprinkles. Place in refrigerator until hard. Break into bite-size pieces.
3. Ritz Ice Cream Sandwiches
Now that spring has sprung, ice cream is officially back in season. Celebrate with these Ritz Ice Cream Sandwiches from Two Peas and Their Pod. Pairing salty with sweet, this dessert, which enlists only crackers, peanut butter, ice cream, and chocolate chips, proves that simple is often better, and finger food is always the most fun.
Ingredients:
- 1½ cups milk chocolate chips
- 24 Ritz crackers
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
Directions: Place the chocolate chips in a medium microwave-safe bowl and melt until smooth, stirring every 30 seconds. Lia levi.
Cover a baking sheet or platter with wax paper. Dip the bottom side of the crackers in the melted chocolate. Place the crackers on the wax paper. Transfer the crackers to the freezer and let the chocolate dry completely. This will take about 5 minutes.
Remove the crackers from the freezer and spread peanut butter over 12 of the chocolate crackers. Place the crackers back in the freezer so the peanut butter can set up, about 5 minutes.
Remove the crackers from the freezer and place a small scoop of vanilla ice cream into the center of the 12 chocolate peanut butter crackers. Gently press the remaining crackers, chocolate side down, onto the ice cream scoop. Freeze for at least 30 minutes before serving.

4. Ritz Dipped Chocolate Cookies
This next recipe from Dessert For Two yields just 10 cookies, and that is probably for the best. Chocolate-dipped cookies rolled in Ritz crackers creates a sweet and savory combination no one can resist, and you only need a handful of baking staples to make your cookie dreams come true. Bake, dip, and roll your way to your new favorite dessert, but don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup dark cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Dip
- ⅓ cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ teaspoon coconut oil
- 10 Ritz crackers, crushed
Directions: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside. In a medium bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until very fluffy, about 45 seconds. Next, add the egg yolk and vanilla and beat until combined.

Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in two increments, beating well. At first, the dough will be very crumbly, but beat it until it comes together in a mass. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl as well.
On a cocoa-powder dusted surface, roll the dough out to ¼-inch thickness. Use your favorite cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Place the cookies on a lined sheet pan and place in the freezer.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. When the oven is hot, slide the cookies directly from the freezer into the oven. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until fragrant and the tops look dry.
Let the cookies cool on the sheet pan for at least 5 minutes. Move the cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second pulses in the microwave. Stir between each pulse. Remove the chocolate from the microwave before the chips melt fully, and stir until smooth.
Dip each cookie into the chocolate, and then sprinkle on the crushed Ritz crackers. Let the chocolate dry on the cookies before serving.
5. Saltine Cracker Pudding
Here’s a dessert recipe found on AllRecipes.com that yields a saltine-studded sweet treat you can eat with a spoon. This Saltine Cracker Pudding is made from scratch with eggs, sugar, and 2% milk, and it’s also flavored with coconut flakes, vanilla, and saltines. Serving 6, this is a good old-fashioned dessert that everyone can enjoy, regardless of whether they prefer salty or sweet.
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs, separated
- ½ cup white sugar
- 4 cups 2% milk

Sweetened condensed milk is the star ingredient that distinguishes this dessert from simple toffee to thicker toffee bars, and their texture is irresistible. Gather the 4 ingredients this recipe requires and get ready to have a new favorite sweet and salty snack on your hands.
Ingredients:
- 1 box Ritz crackers
- 1 bag toffee bits with milk chocolate
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
